Sometimes I get scared. I want to hide from people and from the calling God has called me to because I get scared of not saying the right thing. I get scared to speak my mind. But if I call it what it actually is—I get scared of rejection.
This fear of rejection keeps me from being who God has called me to be—a confident, secure woman who can walk with power and confidence into my destiny because of JESUS, not because of what I have done.
“The fear of man is a dangerous trap, but trusting God means safety.” Proverbs 29:25
Jesus took ALL fear, rejection, doubt and worry and buried it in the ground when He died for us. He now calls us to live a life of freedom from those things, so we can choose to believe that what He did was enough and we are now seen as APPROVED because of the cross. THAT is good news people.
“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Ephesians 4:1
This calling we have received is to walk in our new identity as children of God who are outrageously loved and have a crazy, impossible destiny on their life that can only be fulfilled with Jesus. When we are walking in fear of rejection (which is actually not real because we are not rejected, but we have been accepted by the King of Kings) we are not walking in our true identity.
I challenge you to give God those things that are trying to keep you from walking into who you actually are. Ask God what He has in exchange for you in place of the fears. And you know what? It is His JOY to tell us how loved and accepted we are and the great adventure that is in store for us.
