I love seeing miracles however I do not always want to put myself in the place of needing one.

A friend from varsity was hoping to work in ministry full time, but she had a barrier of school debt that seemed impossible to pay off.  She had been paying off a part of the debt every month with her paycheck, but it did not seem to be making much of a dent.

Our friends would pray and believe for God to help and provide the money, but I never thought to ask, “how could we be a part of the breakthrough?”  One day I felt the Holy Spirit ask me to give all of the money in my savings account to my friend.  Immediately I was shocked with questions racing in my mind.

But God, you don’t understand, this is ALL of my savings!  Are you sure you don’t want me to give a little of it?

I knew God was asking me to give all of the money and I knew better than to not obey.  It scared me to not have a cushion of money but I had to trust God over my own understanding.

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

God started to change my heart and was teaching me how to risk with Him.  He told me He has not only called me to receive miracles but to be a part of the process.

What if obedience is a set up for a miraculous encounter with God and people?

After not so quickly and cheerfully obeying God (I can be stubborn), I emptied my bank account and gave away the money.  I felt a freedom and lightness that I believe only comes when surrendering to Jesus!

That next weekend I was having lunch with a few people and one of them leaned over to me and randomly handed me an envelope.  As I sat down in my car to drive away, I opened the envelope and it was the same amount of money I had just given away a few days prior!  I was utterly AMAZED at the crazy, fun, and provisional nature of God.

He not only wants to meet our needs but meet the needs of those around us.

He is way better than we could ever ask or imagine.  How can you partner to be a part of the miraculous story of God?

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.  And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”  Acts 2:42-47
